Bonsai Garden
Vaman Vriksh Vatika — Statue of Unity's dedicated bonsai garden, spread across 3 acres of themed galleries, an Interpretation Center and a short hands-on workshop.
The Art of the Miniature
Vaman Vriksh Vatika — literally "dwarf tree garden" — is Statue of Unity's dedicated bonsai garden, sitting right beside Ekta Nursery on about 3 acres. Rather than one open display, it's organised into themed galleries by bonsai style and size, including striking forest-style group plantings where several miniature trees are grouped to look like a whole landscape. Beyond the trees themselves, Zen-style gardens, small waterfalls and ponds worked into the layout give the visit a calmer, more contemplative feel than the busier attractions nearby.
What You'll Experience
Three things that shape the flow of a Bonsai Garden visit.

Interpretation Center & Workshop
Start with a short film on the art of bonsai, then try a brief "Make Your Own Bonsai" activity before entering the galleries.

Themed Galleries
Walk through galleries organised by size and style — Mame, Shohin, Chu and Dai — plus striking forest-style group plantings.

Zen Gardens & Water Features
Small waterfalls, ponds and Zen-style garden corners worked into the layout for a slower, more contemplative walk.
A Few More Details
A Recent Addition
Vaman Vriksh Vatika was inaugurated on 30 October 2025, as part of a broader wave of new development projects at Ekta Nagar — so it's one of the newer gardens on the Statue of Unity campus.
Easy Walking, Mostly Flat
The gallery paths are paved and largely flat, making it manageable for most visitors including elderly family members — worth checking with staff on the day about pram or wheelchair access.
Best Time to Visit
Morning or late afternoon works best — the galleries have some open-air stretches, and softer light also makes for better photos of the bonsai specimens.
Photography Notes
Handheld photography is welcome; drones and tripods aren't permitted anywhere on the Statue of Unity campus.
