It isn't the monument, and it isn't a museum or paid attraction you buy a ticket to enter. It's infrastructure — and knowing what to expect there before you arrive makes the first hour of your trip a lot smoother.
Private vehicles cannot drive right up to the statue. If you're arriving by car, taxi or bus, SBB is where you park, sort out tickets if you haven't booked online, and switch onto the free shuttle bus network that carries you the rest of the way — a short shuttle ride from the statue itself.
