The Jungle Safari at Kevadia is the Sardar Patel Zoological Park — a proper 56-hectare zoological park, not a quick drive-by attraction. It's genuinely large enough to reward a slower pace, so give yourself the full visit window rather than rushing it.

  • Walk-in bird and primate habitats, a modern Serpentarium, and open enclosures for Indian deer and antelope.
  • African species including giraffe, zebra and wildebeest, plus an endangered Indian rhino and African hippo.
  • Gaur, sloth bear, and separate Indian wild dog and wolf enclosures.
  • A complimentary e-cart inside the park, subject to availability — plan on walking some stretches on busy days.
What Lives Here

Wildlife You'll Encounter

A mix of Indian and African species spread across walk-in habitats and open enclosures.

Indian RhinoOne of the park's headline residents, an endangered species enclosure.
African HippoA large, well-shaded enclosure — best viewed in the cooler hours.
Giraffe, Zebra & WildebeestAfrican savanna species sharing an open enclosure.
Big CatsPart of the park's carnivore section, further along the trail.
Gaur & Sloth BearNative Indian species you won't see at every zoo.
Indian Wild Dog & WolfSeparate enclosures near the walking loop's midpoint.
SerpentariumA modern, climate-controlled reptile house — a good break from the heat.
Walk-in Bird HabitatAn immersive aviary near the entrance, easy on younger kids.
Walk-in Primate HabitatAnother immersive enclosure, best photographed early in the day.
Among the big cats, the enclosures include the Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger and Leopard — worth building extra time into your visit for, since these tend to be the slowest-moving, most-photographed stops on the trail.
Before You Go

Practical Visit Tips

Best Viewing Windows

Early morning (8–11 AM) and late afternoon (3–5 PM) are when most animals are active and visible. Midday viewing, especially in summer, can be quieter.

The E-Cart Isn't Guaranteed

A complimentary e-cart operates inside the park but is subject to availability and can't be reserved. Wear comfortable shoes in case you end up walking sections.

Carry Water & a Hat

The park is spread over 56 hectares with limited shade in stretches — carry water, especially between March and June.

Bundled Into Classic Day

If you're already booking the Classic Day Package, the Jungle Safari is included — no need to buy it twice.

Professional Cameras Need a Separate Pass

Entry tickets cover phone and standard camera use. DSLRs and other professional camera equipment require a separate photography permit at the gate — check with staff on arrival if you're carrying one.
