Eco-Tourism Bus Route

Khalwani to Zarvani
Eco Tour

A narrated bus ride through Vindhya hill forest, past seasonal waterfalls and tribal village viewpoints — one of the quieter, greener sides of a Kevadia trip.

What It Is

A Scenic Drive Through the Vindhya Forest

The Khalwani to Zarvani Eco-Tourism Bus Tour takes you along a guided route through the hill forest connecting the two points, with a local guide narrating what you're passing along the way.

Most of Kevadia's headline attractions sit close together around the Statue itself. This tour is different — it takes you out into the surrounding Vindhya hills, where dense forest, small streams and tribal settlements give a different, quieter picture of the region. Depending on rainfall, the route passes seasonal waterfalls at their fullest in and just after the monsoon, alongside viewpoints over nearby tribal villages.

  • A bus route rather than a trek, so it stays accessible while still reaching genuinely rural terrain
  • Guide commentary covers local ecology and the heritage of communities in this stretch of the Narmada valley
  • A lower-key add-on than the rafting run at the same Khalwani base — good for the region's natural side without the river's adrenaline

The circuit is a hop-on-hop-off style loop covering around 22 km, starting close to the Statue of Unity and looping through a set of points along the way — you can get off at any stop, spend as much time as you like, and catch the next bus onward. The stops typically include:

Khalwani (River Rafting Point) Arogya Van Ekta Nursery Cactus Garden Butterfly Garden Vishwa Van Dino Trail Zarvani Waterfall

Planning Around This Tour

Best in and After Monsoon

The waterfalls along the route depend on rainfall, so the tour is at its best in and shortly after the monsoon months. Outside that window the same route still runs, just with less water in view.

Same Base as River Rafting

Khalwani is also the starting point for our River Rafting experience. Ask us about pairing the two on the same day once both are confirmed available.

Prefer Calmer Water?

If you'd rather be out on the water without the eco-tour bus or the rafting, the Sardar Sarovar Boating experience runs short rides on the reservoir near the dam.

Outside the monsoon and post-monsoon months, the route and its gardens are still worth the ride — October to March generally brings cooler, more comfortable weather for the drive, just with less water at the falls.
